How did Friends be friends?

HOW TO BE "FRIENDS"?

Even though this show is my all-time favorite, I haven't been able to watch it since 2023, after Matthew Perry's (aka Chandler) death.

Friends started in 1994 and lasted until 2004. In 10 seasons, it showed us how a healthy friendship should be. Friends showed us that even though we all have whole different personalities, love can always bring us together, in our lowest and our happiest times. It's okay to have misunderstandings, fights, disagreements, etc., in a friendship. The important thing is not to make a big deal of it and not hurt each other's feelings. You always have to remember how precious your friendship is and how important these people are to you. "Friends" also shows us how important siblingship is. "Ross and Monica" show us that you can be best friends with your siblings. It also shows you don't have to have a blood connection to be a family. Even though "Phoebe" doesn't have a "normal" family, the whole group becomes her family. Also, Monica and Ross' relationship with their mother shows that sometimes our family members discriminate against us (their own children). On the other hand, Chandler and Monica's love relationship and their marriage show that the one that you're looking for, your soulmate, might be one of your best friends.

Let's talk about how they treat each other in the set. The first example that comes to my mind is how Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer (aka Rachel and Ross) acted about money inequality. In the 2nd season, David and Jennifer were the top money earners. Before the 3rd season started, they offered the producers that they all should earn the same amount of money, and they received the same wage as the lowest-paid actor/actress in the group. This shows us that they're not just actors and actresses, they're friends and a family in real life too. Even though the show ended 21 years ago, their friendship still continues. In fact, Jennifer is the godmother of Courteney and David Arquette's daughter, Coco Riley Arquette. Last of all, I want to add a sensitive topic. The years when "Friends" ran on TV, LGBTQ+ was a question mark for lots of people. It didn't seem nice on TV either. Friends was one of the rare TV shows that showed LGBTQ+ people on TV. They didn't back off, thinking that "our ratings will be low and we're going to cut off on the screen." This is one of the most admirable things about Friends.

To sum up, I'll always love Friends and watch it repeatedly for my entire life. It's one of the greatest sitcoms in history. They are one of us, and they are just our daily life on TV.
